If you aren't sure prayers are answered here is faith building story for you. Chad went into surgery expecting to wake up from a very long, hard surgery with a whole new set of hardware. The doctors went in and were pleasantly surprised. They didn't have to remove the whole T3 vertebrae. They just scraped off the infected area and filled in the gap with cadaver bone. They didn't remove any of the old hardware and didn't add any either. The stuff they scraped off didn't look anything like the tumor they removed last year. They sent it to the lab and we will know in about a week what it was. HIs fusion from last year is strong and in good shape. The did have to disconnect a rib from the T3 and there is a small whole in his lung. The whole is not a big concern just needs to be monitored. He is doing really well. Not eating because the meds make him sick but he is in good spirits and doing well. He has some numbness in his left pinky and thumb. They think that too will go away with time. When Chad found out the good news about them not adding or subtracting anything in his back he was kinda bummed... he was hoping to keep the old rods they were planning to remove. Chad and his hardware!!! Miracles happen and prayers are answered. Thanks for all the prayers in our behave. It worked!!!
