Scarlatina 06-24-2012

We got home from out little Logan retreat and Ethan broke out in a rash all over his body.  The pics don't do it justice.  Sunday afternoon we took him in to the doctor and he was diagnosed with scarlatina.  Many people better know scarlatina as scarlet fever. This is an illness that is usually the result of strep.  Crazy!  He complained of a little sore throat but it didn't change his eating habits or anything so I never even considered strep.  The good thing is the rash doesn't itch at all so we quarantined him until his antibiotics kicked in.  To our surprise Wade didn't get it and Ethan's rash is almost completely gone as of  07-05.
